It all started with a 6th grade friendship. Shannon and Leah were best friends in 6th grade, but both being military brats, eventually they parted ways. Shannon found her again on Facebook while living in Virginia, about 13 years later. Leah, who was living just a half hour away from Shannon, was roommates with Karim (her hubby!) and Keith during college. Shannon visited Leah after reconnecting, and was quite taken by Keith. The two hit it off at a pub that night.
A few months later, on Valentines Day, Shannon moved back to Missouri. Keith decided to try and get her number, leading to a very sweet Valentine’s Day conversation while she traveled 16 hours back to the town she grew up in. After several months of high phone bills and lots of mileage on their cars, the two were dating.
Shannon and Keith went to Italy, Toronto Canada, and many weddings together. They moved to California and adopted two cats. Now, they are starting a new chapter in their lives!
In May 2012, Keith took Shannon to visit his family in LA. During Keith’s birthday dinner, he pulled a prank on his entire family, including Shannon, by telling them all he had something important to say, got down on one knee…. and tied his shoe! Little did Shannon know that he would ask for her hand in marriage at the end of their trip! Keith asked for Shannon to marry him while driving through Carlsbad, home to one of Keith’s favorite family vacation spots. They stopped along the beach in the middle of the night, took a walk in the sand, and Keith popped the question!
Now, two years later, they are getting married in Walnut Creek, CA.
